Curatorial Commentary
The man at right about to step onto the tarmac is future National Basketball Association commissioner Lawrence "Larry" O'Brien, who had directed Senator Kennedy's election campaign in 1960.  The tall man at far left is U.S. Attorney Barefoot Sanders, who was appointed to the northern Texas district position by President Kennedy in 1961.  After the assassination, Sanders was the person who contacted Federal Judge Sarah Hughes to come to Love Field to swear in President Lyndon Johnson. - Gary Mack, Curator
