DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Dr. Robert N. McClelland. Dr. McClelland was an instructor in surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital in 1963 and was among the team of doctors in Trauma Room One who worked on President Kennedy. Less than two days later, he also assisted in the treatment of Lee Harvey Oswald. Interview conducted at UT Southwestern Medical School on July 16, 2001 by Bob Porter and Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and thirty-one minutes long.
Curatorial Commentary
In addition to this 2001 recording, Dr. McClelland participated in a follow-up oral history interview with The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on February 10, 2011. He also joined his Parkland Hospital colleague, Dr. Ronald C. Jones, for a public program on September 24, 2013 (Parkland Trauma Room One Reunion - YouTube). He passed away on September 10, 2019. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
