DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Eva McMillan. A longtime African American community leader and civil rights activist in Dallas, McMillan was heavily involved in voter registration drives and prison reform campaigns in Texas. In the late 1960s, she and her family (including her son, activist Ernest McMillan) were active in the Dallas chapter of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on April 12, 2006 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and forty-two minutes long.

Curatorial Commentary

Eva's son, human rights activist Ernest McMillan, recorded oral histories with the Museum in 2006 and 2019. At a few of these special events, Ernest's delightful and beloved "Mama Mac," as she was affectionately called, was seated in the audience.
