It instructs the Secretary of Defense to "take all appropriate steps" to remove obstructions of justice in Mississippi. Press release is a double-sided, one-page document. Heading at top of document reads: " IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEPTEMBER 30, 1962 Office of the White House Press Secretary - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - THE WHITE HOUSE EXECUTIVE ORDER PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR THE REMOVAL OF UNLAWFUL OBSTRUCTIONS OF JUSTICE IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI " Full text of the Executive Order follows, giving the Secretary of Defense the authorization to enforce orders of the U.S. District Court and to use the military to remove all obstructions of justice in the State of Mississippi.
