DescriptionOriginal 35mm color slide on Kodak Ektachrome Film by an unknown photographer showing the presidential limousine and its occupants during the motorcade in downtown Dallas on November 22, 1963. Driving the limo is Secret Service Agent William Greer, and behind him are Governor and Nellie Connally. Behind the Connallys are President and Mrs. Kennedy. All four occupants of the car are facing the direction of the camera, and most are smiling. Crowds line the street, some taking photographs. A motorcycle police officer can be seen riding along the back passenger side of the vehicle.
Curatorial Commentary
This is one of several amateur photographs of the Kennedy motorcade to surface over the years without any photographer identification. This is likely due to the fact that any photographs showing the Kennedys in Dallas on November 22, 1963, were highly prized and frequently re-printed and widely distributed following the assassination, often without the photographer's knowledge. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
