DescriptionOriginal 35mm black and white negative taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. The image shows an airport worker putting cases back into the luggage compartment of an aircraft at Love Field after a bomb threat on the afternoon of November 24, 1963. In the background on the other side of the plane passengers can be seen boarding the plane via staircase. Dallas Mayor Earle Cabell was the target of the bomb threat that afternoon. Police officers and airport staff secured the area and investigated his plane and all the passengers and luggage aboard. Cabell departed 40 minutes later than scheduled when nothing was found. Curators have determined that the most likely photographer for this negative strip was Bill Beal, but this cannot be confirmed absolutely at this time.
