DescriptionOriginal 120 mm black and white negative taken by The Dallas Morning News staff photographer Clint Grant. The image shows the stage in Burnett Park in Fort Worth, Texas, during Senator John F. Kennedy's campaign stop on September 13, 1960. Seated on the stage, from left to right are Kennedy's sister, Pat Lawford, John F. Kennedy, and Edna Willy. Willy is the widow of Lt. Wilford John Willy, who was Joseph P. Kennedy Jr.'s co-pilot when their plane exploded during WWII. Senator Kennedy's wife Jacqueline did not campaign heavily in 1960 because she was expecting a baby. Kennedy's sisters and sisters-in-law often filled in for her on the campaign trail. .
