DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Cheryl Janice Johnson. Johnson grew up on a Mississippi farm and attended segregated schools until 1966 when she was among the first African Americans in her community to attend a newly integrated high school. She graduated in 1969 after experiencing racism, being denied entry to her senior prom, and having gunshots fired into her home. Interview conducted over Zoom on March 31, 2022 by Curator Stephen Fagin. The interview is 1 hour and 13 minutes long.
