Original White House press release of an Executive Order issued by the Kennedy Administration, dated September 30, 1962. It instructs the Secretary of Defense to "take all appropriate steps" to remove obstructions of justice in Mississippi.

Full text of the Executive Order follows, giving the Secretary of Defense the authorization to enforce orders of the U.S. District Court and to use the military to remove all obstructions of justice in the State of Mississippi.
