Dallas Motorcade

Collection Info
Dallas Motorcade

The ten-mile Kennedy motorcade through Dallas began at 11:52AM CST as the presidential parade left Dallas Love Field Airport. More than 200,000 people turned out to welcome President and Mrs. Kennedy, with densely packed crowds lining Main Street as the motorcade made its way through the downtown area. The assassination took place at 12:30PM CST on Elm Street at the very end of the official parade route. A number of professional and amateur films and photographs documented the fateful Dallas motorcade. Many of these images, oral histories, films and videos also appear on an Interactive Motorcade Map on the Museum's website. You can visit the interactive map here: https://www.jfk.org/interactive-motorcade-map/
