Oral History Collection

The ongoing audio-visual Oral History Project at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza explores the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy and the broader history and culture of the 1960s, with an emphasis on civil rights and social activism. These candid, informal interviews offer unique personal insight into that turbulent decade and the local—and global—impact of the Kennedy assassination. In addition, the reflections of younger Americans help keep President Kennedy's legacy and the 1960s relevant to future generations. Museum lectures, panel discussions and public/educational programming are also included in the Oral History Collection. The opinions and viewpoints expressed in these recordings are those of the speakers, not The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
