The image was taken by Tom C. Dillard, Chief Photographer at The Dallas Morning News.

The crowd in the photograph appears on the right side of the image behind a chain-link fence. On the left side of the image is an empty stretch of concrete. There is a man standing in the distance on the left edge. Closer to the photographer on the left is a man standing with his back to the camera; he is wearing a hat and holding a film camera in his left arm. He holds the camera close to his chest.

There is a silver pole near the center of the image; the crowd is behind it. Most of the crowd stands on the ground, but there are a few young people who are somehow elevated, as if they are on a platform. To the right of the silver pole, there is a boy, his mouth open in a smile. He is possibly holding an American flag in his right hand which is behind the pole; the flag appears on the opposite side of the silver pole as the boy. To the right of the boy, on the right edge of the image, is another man with a camera.

The photograph was taken at an odd angle; everything appears tilted toward the right. The photographer might have been crouching when the photograph was taken as the camera appears to look up at the people pictured.</value></field><field label="Classifications" name="classification"><value>Photographs</value></field><field label="Id" name="id"><value>65036</value></field><field label="Width" name="width"><value>3.6000000000</value></field><field label="Height" name="height"><value>2.4000000000</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>11822</value></field><field label="Object" name="culture"><value>Negative (b&w)</value></field><field label="Depth" name="depth"><value>0E-10</value></field><field label="Description" name="labelText"><value>Original black and white 35mm negative by Dallas Morning News chief photographer Tom Dillard.
