The photograph was taken by a photographer at The Dallas Morning News.\r\n\r\nThe image shows a coat rack in either a hallway or office at Dallas Police Headquarters. The photographer was standing on the other side of the doorway from the coat rack looking into the room; there is an open doorway between the photographer and the rack. The door opens into the room with the rack and is seen on the right side of the image. The left side of the doorway cuts off the view into the room where the coat rack is standing so that it cannot be determined what type of room (office, hallway, etc.) it is.  \r\n\r\nThe rack appears near the center of the image, a couple of yards inside the room.  On the far wall from the photographer there is a window, its blinds raised and a potted plant on the window sill.  On the wall behind the coat rack, there are several hanging frames.  The floor appears to be tiled.\r\n\r\nOn the coat rack, there is at least one white coat--maybe two--and a black coat.  There are also a white hat and a black hat hanging at the top of the rack.  The white hat hangs above the white coat; the black hat hangs above the black coat.\r\n\r\nThe hinge of another opened door can be seen on the left side of the image.  On the floor on the right side of the image is a metal object.\r\n\r\nThe Dallas Morning News photographers recounted where they were throughout the day on November 22, 1963, and some also related their locations in the following days and months when they were photographing events related to the assassination  (such as Lee Harvey Oswald\u2019s transfer or the Jack Ruby Trial).  Their descriptions can be found in the Belo Collection at SMU; The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza's reading room has copies of these accounts available upon request. In cases where the specific photographer who took an image is not known, the potential photographers can be narrowed down to those who said they were at the image\u2019s location.
