The photograph was taken by a photographer at The Dallas Morning News.\r\n\r\nThe photograph shows a portion of the hallway outside the Homicide and Robbery office at Dallas Police Headquarters; the hallway is filled with reporters. There is one police officer standing beside the door of the office.\r\n\r\nThe Homicide and Robbery office appears on the right side of the image; its sign appears above the door and is perpendicular to the wall. It is in room number 317. Room 316, Burglary and Theft, is on the left side of the image.\r\n\r\nReporters fill most of the hallway. They appear to be almost entirely men, but there is at least one woman. She is left of center, and her back is to the camera. Most of the reporters are gathered haphazardly in the middle of the hall, though a few lean against the walls.\r\n\r\nThere is a photographer taking a picture on the lower left side of the image; near the center at the bottom, there is another man wearing a plaid jacket and holding a camera on his right shoulder.\r\n\r\nThe photographer or the camera was somehow elevated to take the image judging by the height of the image's angle.\r\n\r\nThe Dallas Morning News photographers recounted where they were throughout the day on November 22, 1963, and some also related their locations in the following days and months when they were photographing events related to the assassination (such as Lee Harvey Oswald\u2019s transfer or the Jack Ruby Trial). Their descriptions can be found in the Belo Collection at SMU; The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza's reading room has copies of these accounts available upon request. In cases where the specific photographer who took an image is not known, the potential photographers can be narrowed down to those who said they were at the image\u2019s location. For this image, Jack Beers, Tom Dillard and Bill Winfrey are the photographers who were present when the photograph was taken."},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Film"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"0"},"media":{"label":"Media","value":[{"mediaURL":"https://emuseum.jfk.org/internal/media/dispatcher/24995/full","displayOrder":"0","mediaType":"Image","mediaId":"24995"}]},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"Image of reporters in hallway at Dallas Police Department"},"classification":{"label":"Classifications","value":"Photographs"},"primaryMedia":{"label":"PrimaryMedia","value":"/internal/media/dispatcher/24995/full"},"depth":{"label":"Depth","value":["0E-10"]},"thesconcepts":{"label":"Terms","value":["Police","Reporter","Press","Photographs","Winfrey, Bill","Dillard, Tom C.","Beers, Jack","Dallas Police Department","The Dallas Morning News","Homicide and Robbery Bureau","Dallas"]},"culture":{"label":"Object","value":"Negative (b&w)"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"11/22/1963"},"width":{"label":"Width","value":["5.6000000000"]},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"65219"},"dimensions":{"label":"Dimensions","value":"2 3/16 × 2 3/16 in.
