The image was taken by a photographer from The Dallas Morning News.\r\n\r\nIn the image, Captain Will Fritz is walking out of the door to the Homicide and Robbery Bureau.  His right arm is behind him, possibly to pull the door shut; he holds something rectangular in his left hand. He wears a suit, tie, glasses and cowboy hat.  His eyes are either directed downward or closed.\r\n\r\nThere is a police officer in uniform standing outside the door. His left hand is on the door, probably to hold it open for Capitan Fritz; his right hand is on his belt.  \r\n\r\nThe bureau's office can be glimpsed through the open door and its glass window; there is a man in the office with his back to the camera.\r\n\r\n\"317\" and \"ROBBERY BUREAU\" can be seen printed on the glass window in the door.\r\n\r\nThe Dallas Morning News photographers recounted where they were throughout the day on November 22, 1963, and some also related their locations in the following days and months when they were photographing events related to the assassination  (such as Lee Harvey Oswald\u2019s transfer or the Jack Ruby Trial).  Their descriptions can be found in the Belo Collection at SMU; The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza's reading room has copies of these accounts available upon request. In cases where the specific photographer who took an image is not known, the potential photographers can be narrowed down to those who said they were at the image\u2019s location. It could have been any of them. - Stephanie Allen-Givens, Collections and Exhibits Manager","In their 1964 Report, the Warren Commission described the third floor of Dallas police headquarters like this: \"The focal center of the Police and Courts Building during Oswald's detention was the third floor, which housed the main offices of the Dallas Police Department. The public elevators on this floor opened into a lobby midpoint of a corridor that extended along the length of the floor for about 140 feet. At one end of this 7-foot-wide corridor were the offices occupied by Chief of Police Jesse E. Curry and his immediate subordinates; at the other end was a small pressroom that could accommodate only a handful of reporters. Along this corridor were other police offices, including those of the major detective bureaus. Between the pressroom and the lobby was the complex of offices belonging to the homicide and robbery bureau, headed by Capt. J.
