When the image was taken, the photographer was standing down Elm Street from the depository--probably near the triple underpass--looking up at the building. Elm Street features prominently in the foreground of the image, and the depository building is slightly right of center in the background. A portion of the Hertz sign can be seen on top of the building, and the temperature reads 65 degrees. The Dal-Tex building is on the right side of the image in the background.
On the left side, the grassy knoll is clearly visible; the steps on the knoll can be seen. There are two people sitting on them midway down and a third person sits at the top; a forth person, a woman, stands near the top of the steps. The pergola and a planter's wall are also visible. On the right side, a slice of the grassy island lying between Elm and Main Streets is pictured.
