The image was taken by a photographer from The Dallas Morning News.\r\n\r\nThe photographer was standing on the other side of the intersection of Elm and Houston streets from the depository to take the image.  The Texas School Book Depository sign over the Elm Street entrance can be seen; the entrance itself is obscured by an Affiliated Food Stores commercial truck driving on Elm Street.  A small section of the Hertz sign can be seen on top of the building.  Some boxes can be seen through the sniper's window.\r\n\r\nIn the median in Houston Street, seen on the left side of the image, there are two men standing, apparently in conversation; they both wear dark suits and the man on the right is wearing a light-colored cowboy hat.  Across Elm Street from these men, there are several people standing beneath the stop light and road signs.\r\n\r\nSome of the white Dealey Plaza architecture is visible in the background.\r\n\r\nIn the lower right corner, appears the trunk of a parked car.  On the back window of this vehicle, there is a sticker reading, \"CROZIER TECH WOLVES;\" it is accompanied by a stylized wolf image.\r\n\r\nThere is an area across the top of the image that is lighter in color; it is possibly the result double exposure. \r\n\r\nIn the upper left quadrant, there are four black dots that appear to have been applied to the negative; three are in a vertical line and the fourth is above and to the right of the three.  They appear in the sky in the image.
