DescriptionCourtroom pencil sketch on paper by Charles Fisher. The sketch shows defense attorney Melvin Belli watching a film being shown as evidence during the trial of Jack Ruby on March 11, 1964. The sketch shows Belli seated, wearing a suit and glasses. One hand is raised toward his face with his index finger resting against his mouth while his other hand holds a piece of paper on his lap. The figure is depicted in profile, and a series of indistinct figures are visible behind Belli. The caption in the bottom right reads "Melvin Belli watching movie of Jack Ruby - 3/11/64." The artist's signature: "C. Fisher" is at bottom right, underneath the caption. Charles "Chuck" Fisher was the art director at KRLD-TV in 1963. Fisher made the pencil sketches during the trial of Jack Ruby for KRLD-TV after the judge barred cameras from the courtroom.
