This text is followed by the order of events and who is performing each part of the memorial service, including President Lyndon B. Johnson giving the Address. A quote from President Kennedy's inaugural address is printed beneath the "Candlelighting [sic] Ceremony" section of the program:
"'The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our
country and all who serve it, and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.'
John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address".
Musical portions of the memorial service were performed by Howard University Choir; the songs included the National Anthem, the Navy Hymn, and "America the Beautiful".
Reverse of the program has the three stanzas from "America the Beautiful" printed at the top of the page. The bottom half of the page has the "Sponsoring Organizations" listed followed by the names of the head leaders from each organization. The sponsoring organizations included the Interreligious Committee on Race Relations, the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, the Council of Churches of Greater Washington, and the Jewish Community Council of Greater Washington. Each organization listed is separated from the text preceding it by a short horizontal line of three black stars.
