An employee of Union Terminal for twenty-two years, Mozley was a veteran of Dallas railroad switching towers. On November 22, 1963, Mozley relieved tower operator and assassination eyewitness Lee Bowers and worked the evening shift in the tower located near the Texas School Book Depository.

He joined his grandfather on camera for the last fifteen minutes of the recording to ask additional questions and look at photographs of the railroad switching tower in the parking lot of the former Texas School Book Depository building. Barney Mozley passed away on November 1, 2004. -- Stephen Fagin, CuratorAs part of a switching tower restoration project in the early 2000s, the Museum actively pursued oral histories with former tower operators and railroad personnel who could talk about the switching tower's history and operation as well as operator Lee Bowers. In addition to this interview with Barney Mozley, the Museum recorded oral histories with fellow tower operator Gene Veal, Rock Island Railroad employee Robert Fredland and Union Tower switchmen Utah Rogers and Olan DeGaugh.
