The negative shows President John F. Kennedy in the presidential limousine with Governor Connally seated in front of him; both men appear to be looking directly at the camera. The photograph was taken when the front of the limousine was passing the photographer. Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy and Mrs. Nellie Connally are also partially visible on the other side of the vehicle from the president and the governor. Secret Service agents Roy Kellerman and William Greer can be seen in the front seat. On the left edge of the image is Secret Service agent Clint Hill. In the background of the image are houses and the crowds lining the side of the street opposite from the photographer.
The image appears to have a white border.

Back at his high school later that day, Clark also took a series of extraordinary images showing students listening to transistor radios and reacting to news of the president's death.
