Curatorial Commentary
This is likely a recognizable image to anyone who has visited The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza over the past decade.  Although largely unseen for nearly forty years, after this striking color slide was donated to the Museum in 2001, it became a key image in Museum marketing and promotional materials for several years. In addition to gracing the cover of the Museum's main brochure, the image was included in a "Recent Acquisitions" display on the seventh floor (2002-2003) and an "Acquiring History" display on the sixth floor (2004-2010). A wall-sized "larger than life" print was also featured in the Museum's "Call to Action" exhibit (April 2006 - October 2006). Today the image frequently appears in Museum public and educational programming and remains available as a color postcard in the Museum Store. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
