The text of the first page of the document can be seen; it reads, \"UNDESIRABLE DISCHANGE from the ARMED FORCES of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, This Is To Certify That, Private First Class Lee Harvey Oswald 1653230 (typed in), Was Discharged From The United States Marine Corps On The 13th (typed in) Day Of September 1960 (typed in) As Undesirable;\" it is then signed by M.G. Letscher, whose name and rank (First Lieutenant, USMC) are typed under his signature.\r\n\r\nThere are three black marks, one on each side and on the bottom of the document in the image; the marks look like underlined V's.\r\n\r\nThe photograph in the image appears to have a white border.  There is a staple in the document's upper left corner.  In the image, it looks as though someone\u2019s thumb was holding down the bottom of the page when the original photograph was taken.  There is also some dark discoloration in the lower right corner of the image.\r\n\r\n\"KODAK SAFETY--FILM\" is printed at the top of the negative.  To the right of this text, there are two notches cut in the top edge of the negative: they are side by side and one notch is triangle-shaped and the other is shaped like a square.
