Curatorial Commentary
Hugh Aynesworth was a science and aviation reporter at The Dallas Morning News at the time of the Kennedy assassination. As the only known reporter to witness the shooting in Dealey Plaza, the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald at the Texas Theatre and the shooting of Oswald by Jack Ruby, Aynesworth quickly became deeply involved in ongoing coverage of the assassination story in Dallas. In the aftermath, he followed up a number of investigative leads, wrote numerous stories and interviewed many key witnesses, including Marina Oswald. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
