As the only known reporter to witness the shooting in Dealey Plaza, the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald at the Texas Theatre and the shooting of Oswald by Jack Ruby, Aynesworth quickly became deeply involved in ongoing coverage of the assassination story in Dallas.
