The photograph was taken looking out the window down at Elm Street. The window is open and the bottom of the frame and the glass panes appear at the top of the image; a portion of the frame's side is also visible on the right side. At the bottom of the image is a blurry corner of a box.
Next to Elm Street, three police vehicles are parked on the sidewalk. The grassy island that lies between Elm and Main Streets can be seen in addition to Main Street where multiple cars are driving. The triple underpass is also in view.
The photograph has a white border.
On the left side of the back of the photograph, two black rubber stamps have been applied. The first reads, "PHOTO BY JACK BEERS." The second has a rectangular border in which is printed, "DALLAS MORNING NEWS, JUN 28 1967, NEWS STAFF PHOTO."
