The photograph was taken from the back of the courtroom looking forward to Judge Joe Brown. The photographer was standing in the audience because the foreground of the image shows the back of audience members' heads as they sit in the benches.\r\n\r\nJudge Joe Brown sits in the judge\u2019s chair looking toward the photographer; there are an American and a Texas flag hanging on the wall on either side of him.\r\n\r\nJack Ruby is probably sitting at the defendant\u2019s table, his back (identified by his bald spot) toward the camera.\r\n\r\nThis photograph appears to be in the same courtroom as photograph number 1994.003.0143; .0143 was taken closer to the front of the room.\r\n\r\nThe photograph has a white border that is thicker on the bottom than the other three sides.\r\n\r\nOn the back, in the upper left corner two black rubber stamps have been applied.  One reads, \"PHOTO BY TOM C. Brown, standing in front of the Texas flag, is longtime Dallas County Sheriff Bill Decker. Decker, who served as sheriff from 1949 to 1971, was a legendary law enforcement figure in Texas, having been involved in the manhunt for outlaws Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker as a constable in the 1930s. He was riding in the lead car in the Kennedy motorcade on November 22, 1963.
