Image shows the last page of Jack Ruby's will dated February 15, 1967. Ruby died of cancer on January 3, 1967. This photo may be related to the June 6, 1967 Estate Proceedings in Probate Court No. 2 in Dallas County. The goal of this court case was to resolve the contradictions between Ruby's two wills, the first a holographic will Jack Ruby wrote and signed in August 1950 and the second a handwritten will Jack Ruby wrote and signed in August 1966, while he was in jail. The second will was contested by the family because Ruby chose to leave his personal effects to then-deputy sheriff Norman Hooten."},"invno":{"label":"Object number","value":"1994.003.0152"},"description":{"label":"Description","value":"Black and white photograph showing the last page of Jack Ruby's will. The photograph does not have a stamp identifying the photographer, but it might have been taken by a photographer working at The Dallas Morning News.\r\n\r\nThe photograph mainly focuses on the signature that is at the end of the will; it reads, \"Jack L. Ruby, 1717 S. Ervay, Dallas, Texas.\" Below the signature is a stamp reading, \"FILED, FEB 15 1967, TOM E. ELLIS, CLERK, County Court, Dallas County, Texas, By,\" and then Tom Ellis' signature is written in by hand.\r\n\r\nWhen the photograph was taken, it appears as though the top sheet of the will had been lifted so that the signature page could be photographed.
