DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Sid Davis. After covering the 1960 presidential campaign for Westinghouse Broadcasting, Davis became their White House Correspondent and closely followed Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. He was in the Oval Office during Kennedy’s televised address during the Cuban missile crisis and was riding in the Dallas motorcade on November 22, 1963. Davis was one of three pool reporters aboard Air Force One for the swearing in of Lyndon Johnson.

Curatorial Commentary
A longtime friend of The Sixth Floor Museum, Sid Davis has participated in oral histories and public programs on multiple occasions. On the same day as this one-on-one 2003 oral history, he was part of a two-part Sixth Floor Museum symposium to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the assassination. Nearly fourteen years later, he returned to the Museum for another oral history and a public program, "From the Oval Office to Dallas Love Field: White House Correspondent Sid Davis Remembers," on October 23, 2017.
