After serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, he attended journalism school at the University of Missouri and Columbia University. He went to work at The Dallas Morning News in 1951, initially as an obituary writer. During his sixty-four-year career at the Morning News, he was a reporter, city editor, assistant managing editor and, most notably, a featured columnist from 1985 to 2015. - Stephen Fagin, Curator","In addition to this 2005 oral history, Robert Miller also participated in a Museum panel discussion entitled \"Journalists, Trauma and JFK: Why Storytelling Matters,\" on November 1, 2013.
