DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Warren W. Taylor. A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Lyndon Johnson in 1963, Taylor was riding in the backseat of the vice president's Secret Service follow-up car in the Dallas motorcade. Following the Kennedy assassination, Taylor was assigned to protect Lady Bird Johnson.
Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on October 14, 2005 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is thirty-one minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryThe seventh vehicle in the Dallas motorcade, the vice president's Secret Service follow-up car was driven by Texas Department of Public Safety employee Joe Henry Rich. Riding alongside Rich in the front seat was vice presidential aide Cliff Carter and Secret Service agent Jerry Kivett. Woody Taylor was in the backseat with Secret Service agent Lem Johns. Of the vehicle's five occupants, two recorded oral histories with the Museum. On the same day as this interview with Warren W. Taylor, the late Jerry Kivett recorded his oral history, which may be viewed here: Jerry D. Kivett Oral History – Works – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
