Catalina Valdez Scott, a Dallas community leader and activist, organized local Cinco de Mayo and Mexican independence celebrations for more than four decades. Rene Martinez is a recognized community activist and onetime chair of the Dallas chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). Moderator Yolette Garcia is an assistant dean at the Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University. This program was part of the Museum's 2006 "Call to Action" series. Program conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on October 18, 2006.
