His uncle, the late Lynn Brown, was the mayor of Irving, Texas, at the time and traveled with Dallas Mayor Earle Cabell to Washington, D.C. to attend President Kennedy's funeral. 

Interview conducted at Mr. Brown's home in Irving, Texas on March 1, 2007 by Stephen Fagin.
