Curatorial CommentaryPaul Bentley was a longtime friend of The Sixth Floor Museum, and it was my honor to know him in the final years of his life. Prior to my joining the staff, Bentley recorded an oral history with the Museum in 1994, which may be viewed here: Paul Bentley Oral History – Works – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Some thirteen years later, I invited Paul to return to the Museum for a 2007 panel discussion about the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald as well as a solo gallery talk, which may be viewed here: "A Voice from History: Paul Bentley" Program – Works – The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. In January 2008, I had the pleasure of recording my own one-on-one oral history with Paul at his home in Dallas. A few months later, he participated in this recording, one of the Museum's earliest Living History public programs. Sadly, Paul passed away a little more than two months after this event was recorded. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
Paul Bentley passed away on July 21, 2008, at the age of 87, a little more than two months after this public program was recorded. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
