They were crossing Houston Street towards Dealey Plaza when they heard shots fired and witnessed the immediate aftermath of the assassination. A high school history teacher for decades, Sills frequently taught a unit on the Kennedy assassination and shared his eyewitness account with his students. 

Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on June 30, 2008 by Stephen Fagin.
