Dr. Seltzer and fellow peace activst Ken Gjemre, later the co-founder of Half Price Books in Dallas, started the Dallas Peace Committee to End the War in Vietnam. The group staged weekly silent protests in Dealey Plaza for several months.
Millie Seltzer donated her collection of peace movement memoribilia and recorded an oral history with the Museum on January 10, 2006. She passed away later that year, on October 6, 2006, less than one month after attending the funeral of her close friend, former Texas governor Ann Richards. After Ms. Seltzer's death, her family donated to the Museum a portion of her vast library of peace movement and civil rights literature. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
