By the time this photograph was taken, a couple of years following the assassination, billboard sponsorship of the sign had changed to Ford. When the Hertz sign was dismantled in May 1979, the original Chevrolet sponsorship plate was found to be still in place, simply covered up by the Ford plate. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
