During his long career with the Bureau from 1964 to 1994, he achieved the rank of Executive Assistant Director-Investigations (SES-6). Revell worked with the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations investigation and, as Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas Division, supervised the release of the Dallas FBI office's Kennedy assassination-related files in the early 1990s.
