DescriptionVideotaped Living History program with Maury Seitz. A former U.S. Air Force captain who later served as a captain for American Airlines, Seitz was co-pilot on numerous chartered flights that backed up Air Force One during the Kennedy presidency. Seitz met the Kennedy family and spent time with Caroline and John Jr. During the Cuban missile crisis, his plane carried a JFK decoy during a top-secret flight.
Program conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on July 15, 2009 by Associate Curator Stephen Fagin. The program is fifty-six minutes long.
Curatorial CommentaryIn addition to this 2009 public program, Captain Seitz participated in videotaped programs in 2008 and 2010. He also recorded a one-on-one oral history interview with The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on February 13, 2002.
Captain Seitz's home movie of President Kennedy, along with other related material donated to the Museum, was featured in the exhibition Filming Kennedy: Home Movies from Dallas (November 2007 - October 2008). - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
