DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Frank B. Johnston. A photographer with The Washington Post for 35 years, Johnston was working for the Austin bureau of the wire service United Press International in 1963. In the basement of Dallas police headquarters, he captured an image of Lee Harvey Oswald approximately one second before he was fatally shot by Jack Ruby. In 1964, Johnston testified at Ruby's trial and also covered the event as a UPI photographer. Interview conducted at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on August 15, 2009 by Associate Curator Stephen Fagin. The interview is fifty-nine minutes long.
