Curatorial Commentary
The Museum's Joe Hathaway Collection includes several color photographs of Nancy Myers performing on stage at the Carousel Club.  As Myers explained in this oral history, her stage name "Tammi True" was inspired by the title of the 1961 film, Tammy Tell Me True. This film, starring actress Sandra Dee in the title role, was the second installment of the popular Tammy film series (1957-67) from Univeral Pictures about a young Mississippi girl and her adventures in romance. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
