DescriptionOriginal 35mm black and white negative taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows President and Mrs. Kennedy greeting the crowd at Love Field on the morning of November 22, 1963. The images on this negative strip were taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. There were three photographers at Love Field that day: John Mazziotta, Bob Jackson and Eamon Kennedy. It is not known which of the three took these pictures.

The mass of brunette hair above the young man with the crew cut haircut in the right-center portion of this photograph belongs to W.W. Samuell High School student Rose Marie Simmons.  Her brief encounter with President Kennedy and its unique aftermath was detailed in a curatorial comment for record 1989.100.0004.0021, the Dallas Times Herald photograph taken immediately before this one. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
