DescriptionOriginal 35mm color slide showing the view from Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas, looking north toward Dealey Plaza and the former Texas School Book Depository building.
Curatorial CommentaryBy the time this photograph was taken in January 1982, Dallas County had built administrative offices in the former Texas School Book Depository building. In March 1981 the building had re-opened as the Dallas County Administration Building and now served as the seat of county government. Although plans were in the works for an historical exhibition on the sixth floor, the March 1981 assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan halted exhibit design and fundraising efforts for more than a year. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
