DescriptionLocally-produced sign used by members of the crowd in Fort Worth, Texas, to welcome the Kennedys, November 21 - 22, 1963.
The stenciled letters are painted red and have red glitter applied on top of the paint.
The donor was a member of the crowd outside the Hotel Texas the morning of November 22, 1963. She bought the sign from a vendor that morning.
Curatorial CommentarySigns like this one were commercially made and sold to spectators awaiting the Kennedys' visit to Fort Worth. Similar signs welcoming President and Mrs. Kennedy turn up in films and photographs taken on both the evening of Thursday, November 21, and the morning of Friday, November 22. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
