Curatorial CommentaryFerd Kaufman was a Texas-based photographer with the Associated Press from 1957 to 1977. During his long career, he covered a number of presidential visits to Texas, activities at the Johnson Space Center, the Kennedy assassination, the 1968 HemisFair in San Antonio, and the annual State Fair of Texas. Ferd -- a two-time oral history participant -- donated a large collection of his photographs and memorabilia to the Museum in 2011. - Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator
