Image of an assassination eyewitness at the Dallas County Sheriff's office
Charles Brehm, with his five year old son Joe, watched the Kennedy motorcade from the northwest corner of Main and Houston, then ran across the grass to the south side of Elm Street. Like Mary Moorman and Jean Hill, he was one of the closest eyewitnesses to the limo and he reported what he saw to the FBI and other investigators. Brehm was one of the first eyewitnesses questioned in the Dallas County Sheriff’s office. He was not called before the Warren Commission. Brehm believed the second of three shots hit President Kennedy in the head and all shots came from one of the buildings at the Elm & Houston intersection.
This photograph was taken while Brehm gave a filmed interview to NBC News and, via telephone, to a local radio station (believed to be either WBAP or KLIF). – Gary Mack, Curator
