Curatorial Commentary
The red painted circle visible on the Depository's window was an indicator to the Dallas Fire Department, noting where to access the building using a ladder truck. At the time, most downtown buildings sported similar red circles on upper floor windows.  Nevertheless, in later years, many Dealey Plaza tourists who saw the red circle mistakenly believed that it marked the sniper's window. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
