DescriptionVideotaped oral history interview with Barbara Adamson. Co-founder of the Woodrow Wilson High School Alumni Association, Adamson graduated in 1956 and was a newlywed in 1963. Shortly before the assassination, she and her husband drove the Kennedy motorcade route through downtown Dallas moments before police closed the streets for the presidential parade. Interview recorded at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on January 28, 2013 by Stephen Fagin. The interview is one hour and nine minutes.
Curatorial Commentary
Ms. Adamson co-founded the non-profit Woodrow Wilson High School Alumni Association in 1988 and remains, as of Fall 2022, actively involved with the organization. Established in 1928 on South Glasgow Drive in Dallas, Woodrow Wilson High School is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The school boasts a number of notable alumni, including Dallas real estate developer Trammell Crow, Dallas mayor Jack Evans, automotive designer Carroll Shelby, U.S. Congressman Jim Mattox and Pulitzer Prize-winning author (and oral history subject) Lawrence Wright. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
