In addition to this lecture by Dr. Max Krochmal, presenters included Jenny Sweeney, education specialist at the National Archives Southwest Region in Fort Worth; Dr. Todd Moye, associate professor of history at the University of North Texas; Dr. Dennis Simon, associate professor of political science at SMU (\"Crossroads in Context: Civil Rights in Dallas and Beyond\" Program \u2013 Works \u2013 The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza); and 1960s civil rights activist Clarence Broadnax, who participated in a Living History program with Stephen Fagin (Living History with Clarence Broadnax). - Stephen Fagin, Curator","The Museum's Library Collection includes a copy of Dr. Krochmal's 2016 book, Blue Texas: The Making of a Multiracial Democratic Coalition in the Civil Rights Era: Bibliovation | Details for Blue Texas. - Stephen Fagin, Curator","As of early 2026, Dr. Max Krochmal is the Czech Republic Endowed Professor in Comparative Urban Studies, a professor of U.S. History, and Director of Justice Studies at the University of New Orleans. He was co-editor of the book Civil Rights in Black and Brown: Histories of Resistance and Struggle in Texas (2021). The content incorporates over 500 oral history interviews from native Texans detailing racism, resistance, revolution, and struggle for equity across the state. This title won the Oral History Association \"Best Book Award\" in 2022.
