In 1960 it merged with Rinehart & Company of New York and the John C. Winston Company of Philadelphia to become Holt, Rinehart & Winston. They had a regional office in the Texas School Book Depository building at the time of the Kennedy assassination in 1963. - Stephanie Allen-Givens, Collections and Exhibits Manager","Holt, Rinehart & Winston notably published the first major conspiracy book on the Kennedy assassination, the influential and controversial Rush to Judgment by attorney Mark Lane, in 1966. The company also published Lane's follow-up book, A Citizen's Dissent [1968], as well as researcher Henry Hurt's Reasonable Doubt [1985]. Former President Lyndon B.
